Python 3.4.3 Interface on GMAT-R2017a

Postby mschilla » Fri Sep 01, 2017 12:30 pm

Hello everyone. I am having difficulty getting my new install of GMAT-R2017a to recognize the Python interface and on startup I get the following error message:

*** Unable to load the dynamic library "C:\Apps\GMAT-R2017a\plugins\libPythonInterface"

I understand the issue is likely a directory structure issue so I will list the particulars here:
  1. I have installed the 64-Bit version of GMAT in location C:\Apps\GMAT-R2017a
  2. I have also installed the 64-Bit version of Python 3.4.3 in location C:\Python34
  3. I have gone through all of the customization of environment variables listed here:
    http://gmat.sourceforge.net/docs/R2017a/html/PythonInterface.html
Specifically, i have added C:\Python34 and C:\Python34\Scripts to my Path variable and I have added the required PYTHONPATH variable with value C:\Python34\Lib\site-packages.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just to confirm that this seems to be an issue for GMAT-R2017a.

I installed GMAT-R2017a (64 bit version) in a 64-bit machine over Windows 10 and everything went right. I also installed Python (3.4.3 version. 64 bit) and got no problems. I followed the customization instructions in order to configure the python interface as detailed in the official documentation. However, when GMAT was started, the same error message arised: "Unable to load the dynamic library...".

After several tests, I decided to go back to GMAT R2016a and python 3.4.3, both of them in their corresponing 32-bit version and followed the same configuration process of python interface... In this case, GMAT startup was succesfull and I could execute python code from the program.

Kind regards.
