Output Drag

Postby JLCampbell » Thu Oct 02, 2014 6:45 pm

I would like to output the drag (in Newtons) on a vehicle as a function of time to a report file. Is this possible? I have looked at the available outputs and all I see is the DragArea which isn't what I need.

We don't output the drag itself, but we do output the acceleration:

Spacecraft.ForceModel.Acceleration

You could do some calculations on this to remove the two-body component, then divide by mass.

Hi Joel,

I noticed that you added the acceleration output as an improvement in R2013b (http://gmat.sourceforge.net/doc/R2015a/ ... 2013b.html). I require the MATLAB server, so I'm still working with a modified version of R2011a. Do you know what it would take (in terms of mods since I can recompile) to get the acceleration output in a report file? Thanks for any insight. Perhaps I could talk to Darryl if that is a better option.
