Using GMAT for Full 6DOF Simulation

Postby mlcAstro » Thu Jan 09, 2014 4:17 am

I need to specify a matrix of moments/products of inertia and propagate the related attitude of the vehicle. Thus, not only are there the 6 usual states (position, velocity) propagated, but there are also a set of attitude angles states that are propagated as well. Can GMAT 2013a be configured as a full 6DOF with attitude states?

GMAT does not currently support 6 DOF simulation. It is not even in the long term plan at this point. The integrators and design support an extensions like this if you are interested in investing the time though.
