GMAT application for distributed computing super computer?

Postby hornig » Fri Dec 07, 2012 9:48 pm

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask if you could think of a possible application for GMAT on a distributed computing platform with >8000 PCs?
I think you already had some missions where the simulation and optimization process on GMAT took very long and it was only one run from many.

Perhaps I could help you with my distributed computing platform Constellation[0] and perhaps there's a possible tasks where our users could donate their idle pc time at home for your mission. And that's the best point about distributed computing, everyone can help and do science. You only install a little software called BOINC and attach it to Constellation via the internet and then you donate idle pc for science.

So do you think it is possible to use GMAT as an application and help you with your missions? It is open source so license issues aren't there.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Best regards,

Andreas
