Matlab 64 bit?

Postby uranor » Wed Jul 29, 2009 8:34 pm

I am trying to get GMAT to work with Matlab, 2008a 64 bit version and I am getting the DLL not found errors even though the Matlab DLL are in the system path. I suspect it may have to do with the fact that GMAT is not able to use the 64 bit version of them, but I did not find documentation about this issue.
Can anybody confirm it is a 32/64 bit issue? Thanks!

Your hunch is correct. Currently GMAT doesn't interface with the 64bit version of Matlab.
Bug 1382 is a bug that pertains to this issue.

Ok then; if I recompile GMAT from the source, how complex do you think it would be to enable 64 bit support? MATLAB 64 bit API are not dramatically different, if at all (in fact it may boil down to change a few data types and do some tests).
I could try but I don't know the source code in detail, so I may be missing important details.
Thanks!

I'm not sure how complicated something like that would be. I'm not one of the GMAT developers so I wouldn't be able to answer that question.

If you do make some breakthroughs and see that it's a fairly easy fix, please share the details so others can do the same.
